Don’t Waste Your Life, Part 2: Your Time

Don’t Waste Your Life, Part 2: Your Time

We loved seeing everyone this weekend! Feel free to message us during the week if you have any questions. If you missed this week’s message, or want to hear it again, be sure to check out our SERMONS Page. Messages are generally posted each week by Tuesday afternoon.

Every week, it’s our goal to provide you with some questions to process the message deeper, either personally, or with a small group. Here are some questions for you to consider from this week’s message, “Your Time” — part 2 of the DON’T WASTE YOUR LIFE series with Pastor Shawn M. Shoup.

  • Romans 12: 1
  • Ephesians 5: 15-17
  • John 6:39-40

Discuss these questions with someone—maybe a family member, friend, or member of your Connect Group. Use a communication method that works best for your situation.

Start talking.

Find a conversation starter for your group.

  • Define legacy. Define time management. Define passion.
  • What are some of the ways you waste your time?
  • Have you said, “I do not have enough time”?

Start thinking.

Ask a question to get your group thinking.

  • Have you asked God to help you manage your time?
  • Would God be pleased of your time use?
  • If time were money, would you spend it differently? If so, how?
  • How does this affect others?

Start sharing.

Choose a question to create openness.

  • Name the time wasters in your life.
  • Do you know where your passion is?
  • What changes do you need to make?
  • Is comparison of, or by, others good?
  • What is the legacy you are leaving?

Start praying.

Be bold and pray with power.

Thank You for showing me how much the use of Your time matters to You. Enable me to use and manage my time better. Help me to notice the passions I have and use them for Your purposes/glory. Let me see the passions of others and come alongside of them, even if it is to encourage along the way. You are the controller of all time; enable me to see how You manage time. Thank You that You will walk through this with me and not leave me by the side of life’s road.

Amen and amen.

Start doing.

Commit to a step and live it out this week.

  • If you are going to take some steps towards not wasting your time, write them down, and then share them with a trusted friend.
  • Consider finding someone who excels in time management skills and take them out to learn to learn from them.
