Christon Roquemore

This comes with a joyful heart, but also with a sad tone that my mother is leaving my father and moving here. She is bringing my grandmother who also lives with her. My father has always been emotionally abusive, but has recently become physically abusive and my mother can not endure any longer. I know that all of you will agree with me that God does not want her to stay in her marriage with this ongoing and progressive abuse. He has so much more for her in this life and we will rejoice in the blessings He presents to her moving forward.

We are looking for her a place to rent until she can establish employment and gain a mortgage here. The issues I'm facing is rental cost and specifically, pet costs. They will be bringing with them 3 chihuahuas and 1 cat. I've looked at the FB Marketplace, a realtor, and other ways of finding rental homes of some kind and have had no luck. They are either snatched up immediately upon advertisement, or do not allow pets, or is just too costly. My grandmother is on social security and my mother gains her income through a retail job. She will be making more in Rapid City (considerably more) than where she is right now, but can not afford $2k/month rent.

I am asking my church family to keep their hearts, ears, and eyes open for an affordable living place (hoping for 2 bedrooms, single floor) for these two lovely ladies. In the interim they may have to stay with me until we find a suitable place. I have a guestroom and bathroom they can comfortably use, but it is their pets that have me concerned. Our family just accepted a puppy into our lives and adding 4 more pets to this house seems more than concerning. But, I know God can do wonderful things when we hand over our troubles and He will work this out too. I work from home, have two young kids and a puppy. Pray with me that I can not only keep my sanity, but also THRIVE in a joyous environment. Having my mom close will bring great joy that we have been longing for with family.

I'm also praying that my father will come to realize his mistakes. That he will put his pride aside, get on his knees, and repent. This is not coming from a possible divorce, but rather from my concerns for his mental and physical wellbeing. He's done a lot of damage throughout his life, and I fear that he has had little to no remorse and I question whether he's actually let Christ into his heart or is just saying he has. This is not a man I can talk about serious issues with. He is completely irrational and unapproachable.

My mother will be ready to move by the end of October and ready to send deposit and sign a lease for November. Any help I can gain through my church family and our community would be greatly appreciated.

My next-door neighbor has always been a selfless man, always giving to others. Kind of old saint. There are a couple of people at our church that know him. I just found out he has late-stage cancer and COVID. Please lift him up; his name is Doug.

Update on the young mother with Covid: she had a rough night, was taken to ICU, and placed on a ventilator. Please continue to pray for her and her family. Her children are doing better. Two of them have returned to school.

Here's an update to my prayer requests. First of all, my son-in-law's grandfather passed away yesterday. Please keep this precious family in your prayers.

The young mother with Covid is still in the hospital, is weak and still struggling with her breathing. All three children now have Covid. Continued prayers are needed.

Thank you.

Here's a request for all you warriors to pray for my son-in-law and his family. His elderly grandfather, who has been in poor health, suffered a significant stroke. Please pray for comfort and peace for all. This is a precious family.

Please pray for a friend and her family who just lost her daughter to a drug overdose, leaving a husband and 2 little boys. So sad.

I just received this prayer request from a dear friend.

requesting your immediate prayers for Kayla Dorame. She's a friend of our family who went to school with Jake. She was diagnosed with progressive breast cancer in January and has been getting chemo treatments. Unfortunately, this week she was diagnosed with COVID-19 (she was vaccinated) and today went to ER because of some breathing difficulties. She needs lots and lots of prayers. If you would please, pray for her right now and throughout the day. Thank you!

UPDATE ON SCOTT: “So good news is that they got all the cancer, no lymph nodes had cancer, it was not directly on the skull as they thought, and ‘it was not creepy crawly’ like they suspected. Therefore no radiation is needed. Praise God! He has a scratched Cornea from surgery. And of all his MAJOR wounds, this is hurting him the most. Please pray for healing. Thanks ”
