We loved seeing everyone online this weekend! Feel free to message us during the week if you have any questions. If you missed this week’s message, or want to hear it again, be sure to check out our SERMONS Page. Messages are generally posted each week by Tuesday afternoon.
Every week, it’s our goal to provide you with some questions to process the message deeper, either personally, or with a small group. Here are some questions for you to consider from this week’s message, “Quick to Listen”, part 1 of the BIG MOUTH message series, with Pastor Shawn M. Shoup.
My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. – James 1:19-21 NIV
TALK IT OUT
- We all want to be heard and understood. What are some ways we can work to be quick to listen and slow to speak?
- The longer you listen, the more you will learn, the less angry you will be. How have you seen this play out in your own life? Have you experienced this, or have you seen someone else that was particularly good at this?
- What are some benefits of listening to a person without planning a response while they are speaking?
- If you were writing the Going Deeper questions for this message, what do you think would be the most important thing to ask? What do you feel needs to be discussed?
